When you say nothing at all by Alison Krauss
It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word You can light up the dark Try as I may I could never explain What I hear when you don't say a thing
The smile on your face Lets me know that you need me There's a truth in your eyes Saying you'll never leave me A touch of your hand says You'll catch me wherever I fall You say it best when you say nothing at all
All day long I can hear people talking aloud But when you hold me near You drown out the crowd Old Mr. Webster could never define What's been said between your heart and mine
The smile on your face Lets me know that you need me There's a truth in your eyes Saying you'll never leave me The touch of your hand says You'll catch me wherever I fall You say it best when you say nothing at all
The smile on your face Lets me know that you need me There's a truth in your eyes Saying you'll never leave me The touch of your hand says You'll catch me wherever I fall You say it best when you say nothing at all
Words & Phrases
1. light up:照亮,如:Firework lit up the sky with their explosions of red and gold. A rare smile lit up his stern features.
在歌中,“you drown out the crowd”可意译为“所有尘嚣即离我们远去”。
Know-all”,当然“old Mr. Webster”会更亲切。
